How to create a Chapa account

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of setting up a Chapa account so you can start accepting all your payments.


There is one requirement you must meet in order to create a Chapa account. You need to have a registered business issued by the Ethiopian government. If you have a license for your business, you can start accepting payments using Chapa.


Let’s get started!

   1. Go to our dashboard and click the "Sign Up for Free" link.

   2. Fill in the form as directed.

  • Under business name, ensure it is the same as the one registered in the trade license.
  • Password should include a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number, a symbol, and a minimum of 8 characters.

   3. You will be taken to a page that requests that you open your email in order to confirm your account.


   4. You will be taken to your dashboard after completing the email verification for your account. 




That’s it! You've successfully created a Chapa account using a few straightforward steps. Although you have created an account, you still can not start receiving payments yet. You have to complete the KYC form.
